As one of 14 Millennium City schools being undertaken by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), this project is intended to improve upon the basic school infrastructure that exists in the Accra metropolis. The classroom block is disability friendly and comprises of science and computer laboratories, a library, washrooms and a kindergarten. The construction of the educational facility forms part of the government’s commitment to support all assemblies to provide the needed infrastructure, such as educational facilities in the various MMDAs.
As at the time the TransGov team visited the project site, the kindergarten was completed and fully furnished.
October 2017 updates
As one can tell from the start and end dates above, the project was to have been completed two years ago. We last visited this project site a year ago and we were hoping the project would have been completed by now. The reason the contractor gave for the delay is the slow disbursement of funds. We are keenly following this project and will bring you further updates soon. Check the pictures below for the progress of the project since our last updates in August.
